Definition

The total number of Issues that went to a resolved state.

Why it Matters

Issues Throughput is a count of the total number of issues that were resolved in a given time period, regardless of whether the issue was started or not. This metric represents the total number of issues that have been completely removed from the team’s plate.

How to use it

In any healthy organization, there are stale tickets that need to be archived or removed from the backlog. Use this metric, along with Issues Completed, to understand what issues have been resolved without going through the typical “In Progress” to "Resolved" workflow.
